Sizes 00#, B#, 0#, 1#, 2#, 3# and 4# follow conventional dimensions so existing filling machines do not need altering. GEMMY publishes no model code for this item.
- VM-300 vortex mixer: A benchtop vortex mixer running to 3150 rpm with a single tube head, or 1800 rpm with the 3 inch pad, driven by a 5.6 mm eccentric. Two mixing heads are interchangeable: a 26 mm diameter rubber cup for conventional single tube work, and a 3 inch platform pad for multiple tubes or a flask. Operation is either TOUCH for intermittent running, where stirring intensity is controlled by the pressure applied to the pad, or SWITCH for continuous mixing at the flip of a switch. The unit measures 130 x 165 x 180 mm and weighs 5.0 kg, heavy enough to resist slipping and creeping under vibration.

A textured non-slip rubber foam pad grips printed well slides, culture plates, flasks and tube racks by friction, and the contoured platform holds six plates. The single eccentric drive carries 1 kg at 100 rpm, and a lit ON/OFF switch shows at a glance whether the unit is running, either continuously or on a timer up to 60 minutes.
- VRN-210 orbital shaker, rotor: The compact orbital shaker in GEMMY's range, 215 x 200 x 130 mm and 2.2 kg, with a 215 x 175 mm platform and a 21 mm orbit. Speed is set from 75 to 250 rpm, or the unit can be supplied at a fixed 130 rpm, on a single eccentric drive rated for 1 kg at 100 rpm. The contoured platform takes three 96 well microplates, and the textured non-slip rubber foam pad also grips printed well slides, culture plates, flasks and tube racks. - VRN-480 orbital shaker, rotator: The heavy duty shaker in the range, with a 422 x 282 mm platform, a triple eccentric drive and counterbalance that hold a vibration free 25.4 mm orbit at speed even under heavy or unbalanced loads. Solid state control covers 40 to 400 rpm and the platform carries 15 kg at 100 rpm, with speed shown on an analogue tachometer or a three digit LED so runs can be repeated accurately. The platform turns on six permanently lubricated sealed ball bearings, and the precision machined drive housing sits on four cushioned feet that stop the unit creeping. Flask platforms are listed as GE-125-15 for fifteen 125 ml flasks, GE-250-11 for eleven 250 ml flasks and GE-500-06 for six 500 ml flasks, and timed operation runs up to 180 minutes.
- VRN-380 rocking shaker: A rocking shaker measuring 305 x 325 x 190 mm, offered in two builds. The VRN-380A is digital, with a 99 minute timer plus hold, a tachometer and a brushless motor. - YCO-010 hot air oven: A forced convection hot air oven and dry heat steriliser offered in eight capacities from 16 to 200 litres, working from ambient plus 5 degrees C to 250 degrees C under microprocessor PID control. GEMMY quotes temperature uniformity of +/-3.0 degrees C and stability of +/-0.5 degrees C, both measured at 180 degrees C, with the timer only starting once the actual temperature reaches 2 degrees C below the set point. Double wall construction with heavy gauge glass fibre insulation retains heat, and adjustable fresh air inlet ports at top and bottom control the amount of convective air. Safety cover includes an over temperature alarm and cut-out at 10 degrees C above the set point and an independent safety switch that removes power at 220 degrees C if the primary control fails.
- YCO-N01 analogue hot air oven: The gravity convection oven in GEMMY's range, offered where cost is the deciding factor and where accurate temperature control and uniformity are not critical, or where samples must not be disturbed by air movement. Temperature is read directly from a mercury thermometer mounted on the top of the cabinet, and control is by hydraulic thermostat sensor. The door lock is a newer design intended to be easier to open and close, and the formed door gasket limits heat loss. GEMMY publishes no numerical specification table for this model.
- DB-005 dry bath incubator, block heater: The compact analogue dry bath in GEMMY's range, weighing 2.5 kg with a 200 W heater and a maximum of 105 degrees C, holding uniformity at 37 degrees C to 0.3 degrees C under PID control. Temperature is set on an analogue control and read from a thermometer, with an over heat alarm fitted. Applications listed include incubating DNA specimens, cross matching and screening in the blood bank, incubating melted agar, enzyme assays, digestions and milk residue tests, as well as serology, haematology, pathology and biochemistry work. - DB-006E dry bath incubator, block heater: The digital dry bath in the range, with digital setting, an LED digital readout and a digital 99 hour timer, which the analogue DB-005 and DB-006 do not carry. The 450 W heater runs to 99 degrees C with uniformity at 37 degrees C quoted at 0.5 degrees C under PID control, and an over heat alarm is fitted. Net weight is 5.5 kg. The same interchangeable heating blocks accept test tubes, cuvettes and microcentrifuge tubes, each with a well for a removable thermometer, and a solid block turns the unit into a hot plate.
- IN-601 laboratory incubator: A laboratory incubator offered in six capacities from 34 to 150 litres, working from ambient plus 5 degrees C to 75 degrees C, in either an analogue or a digital build. The analogue version uses ON/OFF control with a mercury thermometer on the top of the cabinet and natural gravity convection, giving uniformity of +/-5.0 degrees C and stability of +/-3.0 degrees C at 37 degrees C. The digital version uses microprocessor PID control with forced convection, tightening uniformity to +/-3.0 degrees C and stability to +/-1.0 degrees C at 37 degrees C, and cuts out at 4 degrees C above the set point rather than at 80 degrees C. On the digital model the mechanical 180 minute timer starts only once the set temperature has stabilised, shows END when the cycle finishes, and stores the temperature and elapsed time if the door is opened mid run.
