Products
- TBMC3: Computer Controlled Test Bench for 2.2 kW Engines — EDIBON: Engine test bench for internal combustion engines of up to 2.2 kW, braked by an asynchronous motor fed from a variable frequency drive. Setting the accelerator and varying the braking torque produces the torque and power against speed characteristic curves.
- TBMC8: Computer Controlled Test Bench for 7.5 kW Engines — EDIBON: Test bench for single cylinder internal combustion engines of up to 7.5 kW, loaded by an eddy current electromagnetic brake. The brake is fed from a variator so its torque characteristics can be varied through the test.
- TBMC12: Computer Controlled Test Bench for 11 kW Engines — EDIBON: Test bench for single cylinder and two cylinder internal combustion engines of up to 11 kW. An eddy current electromagnetic brake coupled through a double Cardan joint applies the load, and the instrumentation records the variables under study.
- TBMC75: Computer Controlled Test Bench for 75 kW Engines — EDIBON: Test bench for four cylinder internal combustion engines of up to 75 kW, the largest of the EDIBON engine bench range. The eddy current brake and its variator allow full characteristic curves to be produced under computer control.
- TBMC-CG: Computer Controlled Exhaust Gas Calorimeter — EDIBON: Calorimeter that measures the heat carried away in the exhaust gases of a test engine. Gases rise through a double walled stainless steel tank and pass over a finned pipe carrying counter current water, which absorbs the heat for the balance.
- TBMC-AGE: Exhaust Gas Analyzer — EDIBON: Exhaust gas analyser that measures volumetric concentrations by non dispersive infrared absorption. It carries an engine database and covers a wide range of engine types, with fast warm up of the measuring cell and automatic or manual zeroing.
- TBM/D: Comprehensive Diesel Engine Test and Diagnostic Bench — EDIBON: Diesel engine bench for performance testing and fault diagnosis, with the intake, exhaust, fuel and cooling systems laid out for study. Students evaluate combustion efficiency, exhaust emissions and injection parameters through the diagnostic unit.
- TBM/G: Comprehensive Gasoline Test and Diagnostic Bench for Combustion Engines with Fault Simulation — EDIBON: Petrol engine bench with fault simulation for performance testing and diagnosis. The exhaust system replicates that of a real vehicle, so emissions and combustion efficiency can be analysed alongside faults introduced in the engine systems.
- TBM/H: Comprehensive Testing and Diagnosis Bench for Hybrid Engine with Braking and Diagnostic Software — EDIBON: Hybrid vehicle bench arranged in three sections covering cabin electrics, the driver area with diagnostics, and the hybrid power and braking simulation system. An eddy current braking system recreates different driving loads for performance analysis.
- PFGA: Portable Flue Gas Analyzer — EDIBON: Case mounted flue gas analyser for the exhaust gases of domestic heating systems. It measures the gas composition together with exhaust and combustion temperature, and calculates efficiency, flue gas losses and excess air.
- TDEGC: Computer Controlled Diesel Engine Electrical Generator Application — EDIBON: Diesel genset with control, signalling and monitoring panels for the study of real standby and grid support power plants. A digital synchronoscope allows synchronising manoeuvres with the mains, and the SCADA records every power and control signal.
- MEM: Plate Clutch — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the Plate Clutch, "MEM", allows the influence of the friction surface and the applied spring pressure on the transmitted torque of a friction clutch to be demonstrated.
- MFD: Disc Brake Unit — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the Disc Brake Unit, "MFD", is used to carry out experiments investigating the relationship between the normal force acting on the brake pads, the effective radius of the brake pads, and the braking torque.
- MFF: Braking and Accelerating Forces Unit — EDIBON: Using weights and pulleys, the Braking and Accelerating Forces Unit, "MFF", designed by EDIBON, allows the calculation of such load transfer. It also allows the relationship between load transfer and the factors it depends on to be checked.
- MFT: Drum Brake Unit — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the Drum Brake Unit, "MFT", allows the study of the forces acting on a drum brake, the difference between the braking torque of the primary shoe and secondary shoe braking systems, and determination of the coefficient of friction between the drum and the brake shoe. The different types of configurations of existing shoes can also be studied with the equipment.
- MSH: Simple Hydraulic Unit — EDIBON: Designed to demonstrate how a fluid can be used to transmit a force, the Simple Hydraulic Unit, "MSH", also supports study of the relationships between the force on the pistons, the cross-sectional area of the pistons, and the fluid pressure in the unit.
- TBMC-AGE/NOx: Exhaust Gas Analyzer (NOx) — EDIBON: This EDIBON instrument is an exhaust gas analyser for nitrogen oxide measurement in engine testing. The listed range includes TBMC3, TBMC8, TBMC12 and TBMC75, computer controlled test benches for engines, together with the TBM/G, TBM/D and TBM/H diagnostic benches and the TBMC-CG exhaust gas calorimeter. It is intended for automotive mechanical engineering laboratories.
- MBW: Borg-Warner Automatic Transmission — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the Borg-Warner Automatic Transmission, "MBW", includes a torque converter and a three-speed automatic system, letting students carry out experiments with different transmission ratios that simulate clutches and band brakes.
- MCC: Gearbox — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the Gearbox unit, "MCC", represents the typical position of a simple gearbox with three gear ratios and reverse.
- MDC: Differential-Crownwheel and Pinion — EDIBON: To demonstrate how the elements of a differential, the crownwheel and the pinion, act, the Differential-Crownwheel and Pinion, "MDC", has been designed accordingly.
- MEC: Overdrive Unit — EDIBON: Featuring a set of epicyclical gears, the "MEC" Overdrive Unit represents an application of a simple epicyclic arrangement of the type used in a motor vehicle overdrive.
- MTE1: Epicyclic Gear Unit (1 element) — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the "MTE1" Epicyclic Gear Unit (1 element) includes a set of epicyclic gears that lets students study different reduction ratios (direct drive and overdrive), as well as torque conversion.
- MTE2: Epicyclic Gear Unit (2 elements) — EDIBON: Two coupled epicyclic gear sets make up the Epicyclic Gear Unit (2 elements), "MTE2".
- MTE3: Epicyclic Gear Unit (3 elements) — EDIBON: Designed by EDIBON, the "MTE3" Epicyclic Gear Unit (3 elements) consists of three coupled epicyclic gear sets. Students can use it to run experiments on different gear ratios, as well as torque conversions.
