The digital member of the PLC-012 pair, specified with an LED digital tachometer, a 99 minute digital timer and microprocessor speed control, where the base PLC-012 uses an analogue tachometer and a mechanical timer. GEMMY quotes 0 to 12000 rpm across the PLC-012 series depending on which rotor is fitted, driven by an 80 W brush motor inside a moulded stainless steel chamber. Rotors are changed quickly using the attached hexagon wrench, and a safety locking latch with an interlock switch cuts the motor if the lid is opened mid spin. The cabinet measures 310 x 360 x 310 mm and the drive brakes to a gentle stop in 20 seconds.
