- Chewing Gum Tester DRT — Erweka: The DRT tests in vitro release of substances from chewing gums and other dosage forms that have to be masticated into the surrounding liquid medium. Vertical up and down strokes of the lower jaw combine with a revolving movement of the upper jaw to give ideal mastication of the gum and simultaneous agitation of the test medium. For manual sampling, emptying and cleaning, the lower jaw with the test cell lowers so that the chewing process stops, after which the test cell and both jaws lift out easily. A water circulation system regulates the water temperature in the test cell around the media. The modular design allows any number of gums to be tested, with 6 test stations the most commonly used, and cells can take extra accessories to measure chewing gum pressure, torque at shear force, pH value and temperature.

- Dissolution On-/Offline System with UV-Vis — Erweka: A semi automated dissolution system with connected UV-Vis measurement and sample collection, controlled by Disso.NET. In standard configuration it tests up to 10 batches to USP method 1 (basket) or 2 (paddle), and the parallel sampling approach gives very short cycle times for detailed drug release profiles. Integrated System Suitability Tests and video monitoring support reliability, and a 10 batch system needs no more than 2 x 1 m of floor space.
- Disintegration Tester ZT 120 Light (ZT 121 light, ZT 122 light) — Erweka: Erweka position the ZT 120 Light series as the entry level disintegration tester, with one or two motor driven USP / EP / JP compliant test stations. The compact unit carries an integrated flow through heater and a moulded one piece PET water bath with a cover, which Erweka note will not leak or break and is easy to clean. Operation runs from a membrane keypad, where run time and water bath temperature are entered with symbol keys and actual values appear on large bright LED displays. The run time counter starts automatically as soon as the basket rack assembly is lowered into the test media.
- Disintegration Tester ZT 320 Series (ZT 321, ZT 322, ZT 323, ZT 324) — Erweka: On the ZT 320 series the one to four test stations are driven individually, and each station has its own keypad. Once the required run time is programmed, the basket rack assembly with its loaded samples lowers automatically into the media, and on completion of the preset time or when the stop button is pressed the rack is raised out of the media to prevent further disintegration, which is optional. Temperature shown on the LED display is measured by the standard external sensor sitting either in the water bath or in the test media. Recorded test run parameters can be hard copied through the USB printer interface and the actual disintegration time added manually afterwards.
- Disintegration Tester ZT 730 Series (ZT 731, ZT 732) — Erweka: The ZT 730 series determines disintegration time automatically using a cable free AirBasket built around a system of magnets and sensors. It comes with one individually driven test station (ZT 731) or two (ZT 732) and carries an integrated flow through heater. The AirBasket has a sealed electronics compartment, making it dishwasher proof, and durable sensors that allow use in acidic media; it is available as a type A basket with 6 test tubes for standard tablets or a type B basket with 3 test tubes for larger tablets, both to USP / EP / JP standards. Water bath technology uses the thermal inertia of water for a steady test temperature with a PT 100 sensor for constant control, and the 7 inch touchscreen stores and retrieves up to 200 products or methods with their results and parameters.
- Friability Tester TAR II — Erweka: The TAR II is Erweka's upgradeable USP / EP / JP friability and abrasion tester. Its high resolution 7 inch touch display puts the operator's attention on compliant friability testing, with TestAssist automatic calculation guiding the process step by step and an advanced balance connection transferring and calculating data directly. TestAssist offers three testing modes covering revolutions, time and USP test, checking that every parameter is set correctly, and in USP mode it calculates results automatically and triggers repetition of the test where USP guidelines require it. The unit can be configured with one or two test stations plus an optional smart scale, and all of it can be retrofitted later. A stand for the 10 degree position required by USP / EP is included.
- Granulate Flow Tester GT Series (GTL, GT, GTB) — Erweka: Erweka's granulate flow tester family determines the flow behaviour of powders and granules by several measurement methods. The GTL is the entry level device for USP / EP compliant measurement of flowability by weight and by volume, operated through a simple numeric keypad and LC display with printable results. The GT adds a scale so stable weight can be measured during the flow, and on top of the GTL's two methods it measures flowability over a set time and the flow angle with graphical display. The GTB extends the GT with advanced automatic laser measurement of the angle of repose. Accessories such as outlet nozzles of differing diameters, smaller collecting funnels and an optional four stage agitator for poorly flowing samples allow customer specific measurements that are not EP compliant.
- Manual Powder & Granule Density Tester SMG 697 — Erweka: The SMG 697 is a manual powder and granule density tester for reproducible determination of apparent bulk density, usable with all free flowing powders and granulates. Following DIN ISO 697, apparent bulk density is found by measuring the mass of a powder in a container of known size after filling from a funnel of specific shape under defined conditions. Erweka supply the device with operating instructions and a calibration certificate.
- Tapped Density Tester SVM II — Erweka: The SVM II is Erweka's latest generation tapped density tester. Its 7 inch high resolution touch display keeps the operator focused on 100 % USP / EP compliant tapped density testing, and TestAssist automatic calculation walks the user through the process while working out the Hausner Ratio and compressibility index and printing a report after every test. A newly designed SwitchPlate system produces five versions of the instrument, covering USP 1, USP 2 or USP 3 in one or two test station configurations or a combination of both methods, and the user can change from one variant to another within minutes. Supported methods run from USP 1 and USP 2 through to ASTM B527-15 and DIN EN ISO 787-11:1995.
- Vacuum Leak Tester VDT/S — Erweka: The VDT/S tests blisters and other packaging forms for leaks. Maximum vacuum, with an absolute pressure range up to 100 mbar, and the vacuum hold time before release are set from the symbol keypad, while the actual vacuum is shown continuously on the LED display. To check density the instrument runs a methylene blue dye test split into several phases: during pressure maintenance the blisters are exposed to a vacuum generated in the vacuum container, the container is then ventilated, and in the penetration process the blister rests in the methylene blue solution so the solution can be drawn into any imperfectly sealed packaging. Test run parameters such as actual and set vacuum value and hold time are documented through a USB interface or a connected printer, and the integrated vacuum pump can be recalibrated with the optional validation kit containing a type DVR vacuum meter.
- Suppository Penetration Tester PM 30 — Erweka: The PM 30 measures the softening time of suppositories, which must disintegrate, dissolve or melt at body temperature for their active ingredients to be released. Erweka offer a version for EP method A and for method B: the PM 30 penetration tester is Apparatus A according to EP and the PM 3 is Apparatus B. Both were developed to give reproducible measurements of softening time at specified temperatures, and the design of the test device makes visual observation of melting characteristics straightforward. The unit consists of three test stations.
- Suppository Hardness Tester SBT 2 — Erweka: The SBT 2 suppository hardness tester is built around an electrically heated chamber with an integrated sample holder and a set of interchangeable plastic inserts that hold suppositories of different sizes. Once the desired temperature is reached, hardness is tested using weights supplied as standard, which are placed on the device one after another until the suppository collapses under the load. Results are expressed as the total weight required to collapse the suppository.
- Melting Point Tester SSP — Erweka: The SSP measures the melting point of suppository samples. It is made up of a graduated tube with an integrated glass test chamber, and the sample under test sits in a spiral shaped glass test basket inside that chamber. A water jacket surrounds the chamber, and the water within it can be heated with the optional EST 2 circulation heater.
- Suppository Disintegration Tester ST 35 — Erweka: The ST 35 has three turnable test stations, each sitting in a four litre glass vessel with an optional magnetic stirrer, and a thermostatically heated water bath that Erweka describe as leak proof and double secured. Test stations turn automatically through 180 degrees at adjustable intervals. An integrated high performance flow through heating system holds accuracy to ± 0.2 °C and an internal temperature sensor drives the temperature display. Test time and set bath temperature are entered on membrane keys, with current test time and water temperature shown on clearly visible red LEDs, and an alarm can be selected to sound once the set test time has elapsed. The width of the unit lets the test stations be separated for easier cleaning.
- Tablet Hardness Tester TBH 125 — Erweka: The TBH 125 is Erweka's basic device for tablet hardness testing in dual mode, constant speed and constant force, offering accuracy, robust design and quick handling. It is operated through a symbol keypad that makes entering the number of samples straightforward, and up to three physical parameters can be tested: hardness, diameter or length, and thickness. Results including date and time appear on two bright LED displays and can be printed through the standard USB printer interface. Calibration is done either statically with weight stones or dynamically with AutoCal 2.0 using menu guided three point calibration, and the unit produces a calibration print out with individual calibration data, service date and time and serial number.
- Tablet Hardness Tester TBH 325 Series — Erweka: The TBH 325 is Erweka's hardness or combination tester with an integrated product memory for up to 50 products, built robustly for smooth operation in production environments. Its numeric keypad with alphanumeric sub function stores nominal hardness together with three tolerances for each of up to 50 products, ready to be recalled for testing, and product names, remarks and batch or lot numbers can be entered before a test run begins. Recorded information and results can be printed on a connected printer or transferred to a computer through the LAN interface. Samples are inserted manually so all tablet types and shapes can be tested, and broken samples drop from the test station into an acrylic glass disposal container. Hardness is measured from 3 to 500 Newton in constant speed or constant force mode, with measuring sensitivity adjustable from 3 to 40 N.
- Tablet Hardness Tester TBH 425 Series (TBH 425 D, TBH 425 TD, TBH 425 WTD) — Erweka: The TBH 425 is a tablet hardness and combination tester for semi automatic measurement of up to 10 samples. Samples go into a star shaped feeder and are then transported automatically to the test station, where, depending on model, hardness and optionally thickness, diameter or length for oblongs can be measured on round or uneven samples. An alignment routine and an optional support groove in the hardness testing station help align irregularly shaped samples during breaking. The numeric keypad with alphanumeric sub function stores nominal hardness with three individual plus and minus tolerances, where T3 is the pass or fail criterion, plus comments for up to 50 products, and stored product data can be moved to other devices in the TBH 325 / 425 family by SD card or USB stick. Paired with the optional MC.NET software over the serial LAN or USB interface, the series is 100 % 21 CFR 11 compliant.
- Manual 5-Parameter Hardness Tester TBH II — Erweka: The TBH II covers manual 5 parameter tablet hardness testing in one compact instrument, built for pharmaceutical quality control and research laboratories. It measures hardness up to 500 N, thickness, width for oblongs, diameter for round tablets or length for oblongs, and weight, giving pharmacopoeia compliant tablet testing across all five properties. A top mounted touch interface guides the operator through each test step with TestAssist, supported by robust mechanics and an ergonomic, space saving design. It measures up to five parameters in a single workflow, weighing samples automatically through its integrated weighing cell so no manual handling is needed. The patented Oblong Slider aligns tablets precisely for consistent results across different tablet shapes, and a star shaped rotary magazine in stainless steel and aluminium provides 20 test positions while leaving the test process fully visible. An intuitive touchscreen stores up to 100 products, methods and users, and the instrument can be fitted with a test memory for up to 1 million test results, an audit trail light function for paperless reporting and CSV and XML data export.
- Tablet Hardness Tester MultiCheck 6 — Erweka: MultiCheck 6 is a fully automatic combination tester built for ease of operation, maximum efficiency and operator convenience. Among its features are an intuitive touch display carrying integrated MC.NET software functionality, a capsule weight measuring system and a patented Oblong Navigator, and Erweka claim an unsurpassed low noise level and the cleanest operation in its class. The empty capsule weight measuring system determines capsule weight and deducts it automatically from the weight of filled capsules, with direct ejection immediately after weight measurement to speed the process up. Proven features are retained: the instrument tests up to five tablet parameters, is fully automated and 100 % compliant with all pharmacopoeias worldwide. It stores 100 products and methods as standard and holds up to 1 million test results.
- All-Purpose Equipment Drive Unit AR 403 — Erweka: Erweka's All-Purpose system is built on a powerful drive unit available in two versions, with attachments connected quickly through a coupling. The AR 403 uses a three phase AC motor and a sturdy ball bearing worm gear drive that is completely maintenance free and delivers a maximum output torque of 23 Nm. Electronic speed control varies between 20 and 400 rpm, set on a digital dial, and permanent nominal to actual adjustment holds the preselected speed even under varying load. The AR 403-S shares the design but has a different drive train intended for heavy use. Attachments published for the system include a ball mill, conical mill, cube mixer, double cone mixer, drum hoop mixer, high speed mixer, planetary stirrer, v-mixer, wet granulator, double roll crusher, pelletizer, coating pan, polishing drum and the FDS filling and dosing unit for ointments.
- Tablet Press EP-1 — Erweka: The EP-1 is a desktop tablet press for research and development work. This single punch eccentric press makes tablets and odd shaped products up to 20 mm in diameter and runs automatically, filling the die with powder or granule, compressing the material and ejecting the tablet continuously. Compression force of up to 3 tons and filling depth of up to 17 mm are both easy to adjust. Components are hard chrome covered or made from stainless steel AISI 304, with acrylic glass for the front door, and the frame plates are 1.0332 StW22 bright chrome plated. Throughput reaches a maximum of 4,000 tablets per hour.
