Universal multi-voltage operation from 100 V to 240 V removes the need for a transformer, and the stainless steel chamber carries automatic imbalance detection, an overheating sensor on motor and driver, an interlocking lid with manual override for power failures and an emergency stop. Five rotors are published for the machine, from an eight place 15 ml angle rotor to the F-2415 capillary rotor for haematocrit work at a fixed 12000 rpm and 14490 x g. A transparent viewfinder in the lid allows the rotor to be watched while it spins.
