Kaps calls the SOM4dent 300 the flagship of its endodontic microscopes, developed for dentists who work under magnification every day. Motorised 1:7 zoom with adaptive speed, a varioscope covering a working distance of 200 to 350 mm and electromagnetic brakes are all commanded from control buttons built into the comfort handles, so the hands stay on the treatment field. A double iris diaphragm improves depth of field for deep cavities and branching canal systems, while the swing-in orange filter prevents composite fillings curing early. Cabling runs inside the system and the fanless LED works without noise or dust disturbance.
The 1100 is the versatile middle member of the Kaps dental family, joining apochromatic Kaps optics to a balancing system that keeps the head precisely where it is set. Because the mechanism compensates asymmetrical loads, ergonomics survive intact even once a photo adapter, beam splitter or vario lens has been fitted. A 12mm fine focus allows sharpness to be shifted between coronal and apical planes during root canal work.
