Specify the water delivery you need

Compare proposals at the required water delivery and lift. A motor power rating alone does not describe the irrigation duty.

Water source and lift

Record the water level while pumping, the delivery elevation and the pipe route. Ask for the proposed duty point to be marked on the offered pump curve.

Daily and seasonal demand

Give the daily water requirement for the main irrigation season, the project location and any water storage. Ask how the proposed solar array meets that demand.

Controls and supply scope

Identify the pump and controller together. State whether dry-running protection, tank-level control, backup power, pipework and installation are required in the quotation.
