Meicen builds the wing board from a carbon fibre shell over a foam core, which adds stability while keeping attenuation low, and the set-up itself is simple and comfortable. Holding the patient's arms up helps secure the intended radiotherapy effect, and the board is compatible with the T and U grips and with the Meicen Supine Breast Board. Put together with a T-shaped or wing board vacuum bag, headrests and a lock bar, it forms a complete arrangement for breast and upper body treatment positioning. Meicen notes that wing boards are often used when radiation is being delivered to the chest area.
Indexing bars are part of the S-Series SBRT Solution and allow the assembly to be located on the couchtop, which matters because Meicen states the system is compatible with the couchtops of all brands. Indexing bars appear in the included components grid for the system. Meicen lists this item among the components included with the S-Series SBRT Solution MC-STF001.
Engineered for quick, simple and efficient patient positioning, this breast board is both lightweight and cost-effective. Its treatment zone is a coreless single-layer carbon fibre panel, which gives an IGRT treatment zone with minimal attenuation together with maximal homogeneity and stability. Height and size are fully adjustable, the lumbar area is contoured, and the enhanced bottomstop locks easily. The board accepts an S-Type head mask for stable, reproducible supraclavicular treatments as well as breast masks.
