Two shaft gas turbine for evaluating performance, energy balance and the interaction between stages. The first shaft carries the gas generator turbine with radial compressor and tubular combustion chamber, allowing self sustained operation.
Single stage impulse steam turbine with injector, brake and water cooled condenser. A belt brake with load cell measures torque, and closing a solenoid valve at the condenser outlet lets a known volume of condensate be timed to give the steam flow.
Two shaft gas turbine that can also be run as a single shaft jet engine by fitting a nozzle accessory. In turbine mode the power turbine drives a generator, in jet mode a load cell measures the reaction produced by the accelerated exhaust gases.
