Hot mounting press in the same fully hydraulic, water cooled family as the Qpress 40, sized for the larger mould diameters. It uses the same closure system, which is designed so the mould assembly opens and closes cleanly over long service.
Quick clamping tools that hold the specimen securely on the cutting table without slow screw adjustment between samples. Correct clamping is what prevents the specimen shifting mid cut, which would damage the wheel and ruin the section, so it is a functional part of the cutting process rather than an accessory.
Ultraviolet curing mounting device that sets the embedding resin with UV light instead of heat and pressure. Because there is no thermal cycle, it suits specimens that would be altered by hot mounting, and cure times are short compared with conventional cold mounting resins.
