Insert for the lead source container, made of foamed plastic. It seats the Mossbauer source so that the source gripper can lift it out easily.
Raw lead shielding materials for building source shields to an individual design. Lead bricks come in a range of forms, and lead plates are made in thicknesses from 0.5 mm up to 90 mm, usually 1000 mm by 1000 mm although other formats can be supplied. Lead granulate is used to fill stable metal or plastic boxes to form a shield, and can also be poured into the hollow parts of the Mossbauer benches to add weight and damp vibration.
Hand tool for lifting the Mossbauer source out of its lead container and screwing it onto the source adapter on the velocity transducer without touching the source. Three claws at the front end hold the source and an operating wheel at the rear works them, while a shield sits in front of the source once it is gripped. At roughly 380 mm the tool keeps the operator a safe distance from the source, and a shorter version is also made.
