The L40 EGA FTIR couples a Linseis STA L81 thermobalance to a Nicolet FTIR spectrometer for evolved gas analysis. Gases released from the sample during heating pass along a temperature controlled transfer line and are identified by their infrared absorption bands. It is used to assign mass loss steps to species.
