Choose a UV-Vis spectrophotometer by method, sample format, optical performance and software. Compare catalogue examples and prepare an itemised laboratory quotation.
Start a UV-Vis purchase with the measurements your laboratory must report: the method, required wavelengths, sample format and daily workload. A brand, screen size or wavelength-range headline is not a complete specification. Build a shortlist from the spectrometers and optical-analysis catalogue, then ask each supplier to answer the same application brief.
Use that brief to separate essential requirements from useful options. A teaching exercise with a defined method and a research programme that needs spectral scans may ask different questions of the same catalogue. Request a demonstration or documented suitability assessment for representative samples where this will resolve uncertainty.
| Decision | What to put in the quotation request |
|---|---|
| Visible or UV-Vis | The wavelengths required by the actual method; ask the supplier to identify any range limitation. |
| Single or double beam | The measurement sequence, blank/reference procedure, scan needs and required stability evidence. |
| Cuvette or microvolume | Sample volume, holder compatibility, optical path and the method's calibration requirements. |
| Optical performance | Wavelength accuracy, bandwidth, stray light and photometric performance under the stated test conditions. |
| Sample accessories | Exact holders, cuvettes, temperature accessories and any accessories excluded from the base price. |
| Software | Required analysis, export format, user access, audit records and licence scope. |
For each specification, ask which model and operating conditions the value belongs to. A displayed number of decimal places does not establish measurement accuracy. Keep a supplier's published specification separate from an acceptance criterion that your laboratory has agreed to verify.
The manufacturer's SP-LUV7600 page identifies a double-beam system with a 190–1100 nm wavelength range and 0.5–6.0 nm spectral bandwidth. It distinguishes an optional audit-tracking software version. Review the VVON product entry and ask the offer to name the selected software and accessories; a family description does not mean all options are included.
The manufacturer lists SP-IUV8 and SP-IUV9 together. Require the quotation to identify the exact variant and its model-specific specification column. Keep your shortlist in the SP-IUV8/SP-IUV9 product entry; do not combine features from separate variants into one assumed instrument.
For other configurations, browse the BIOBASE and Infitek catalogues. Compare exact models against the same brief. A catalogue listing does not establish current local stock, delivery time or suitability for a regulated method.
Ask for separate lines for the instrument, required cuvettes and holders, software, computer or printer if needed, delivery, installation, agreed checks, training and warranty. Identify recurring items, servicing arrangements and responsibility for any external verification. Share the Bangladesh delivery location, access constraints, room conditions and power arrangements before the final offer.
An applicable price needs the exact optical configuration, sample accessories, software and delivery scope. Request a dated, itemised quotation and compare inclusions rather than using an unspecified online starting price.
Select against the method, reference procedure, required stability, throughput and budget. Ask for evidence that the proposed configuration meets the measurement requirement instead of treating the configuration name as a complete suitability decision.
Send the method, sample description, required wavelengths, holder or volume requirements, workload, software needs and location. Include any existing model or tender specification so the proposed configuration can be compared line by line.
