It is used in departments handling short lived radionuclides, where storage for decay replaces active waste disposal.
A replaceable plastic insert for the shielded sharps bins, so contaminated sharps can be removed and the outer lead shielded bin reused. It drops into the shielded outer bin and is changed out when full.
