A strongly nonlinear process in which a metal ball is held in the air by an electromagnet. Position and current sensors allow the height of the ball to be controlled, so students see what makes a nonlinear plant hard to regulate.
The base unit common to every RYC type unit, on which regulation and automatic control practices are carried out. It is organised into functional sections that provide the reference generation, control and measurement for the process units.
