A laser head that works with an external linear optics kit to form a non-contact interferometric encoder for long axes. It gives sub-micron position feedback on large machine tools and removes the hysteresis, backlash and cyclic errors of rack and pinion or ballscrew feedback.
An inductive rotary absolute encoder that reads a multi-track scale on a passive rotor using electromagnetic induction. Because it needs no line of sight it tolerates dirt and oil, and built-in alignment flexures self-centre the rotor so no calibration is required.
A periscope that lets three RLD10-X3-DI differential interferometer heads measure linear position, pitch and yaw along one axis of a high performance XY stage. The small beam footprint keeps the target mirrors light, and it bolts to a vacuum chamber or metrology frame.
