MTTU is a bench tensile tester for small metal and plastic specimens. Load and extension are measured as the specimen is pulled to failure, giving the stress strain curve, the yield and tensile strength and the percentage elongation.
MTB is used for torsion tests on metal bars. Torque is applied through a worm gear and measured with a load cell while the angle of twist is read, so the modulus of rigidity and behaviour past the elastic limit can be studied.
TIAC is a computer controlled impedance tube for acoustic testing of materials. The sound absorption coefficient and acoustic impedance of samples are measured over a frequency range and recorded through the data acquisition system.
