Two shafts of different lengths make up the Set of Rotating Shaft with Crank, "MDU-SRS": the short shaft simulates a projecting shaft end, with its load transmitted through the belt drive of the Set of Belt Drive, "MDU-SBD". The long shaft, meanwhile, is used with a protective bearing from the Set of Elastic Shafts, "MDU-SES", and a flywheel, in order to study a shaft fissure in the case of an elastic rotor.
