Andor's iXon platform is a dedicated ultrasensitive EMCCD camera family engineered to draw the best from electron multiplying CCD technology across every critical performance parameter. Two sensor formats are offered, the 1024 x 1024 iXon 888 for field of view, sensitivity and speed, and the 512 x 512 iXon 897 for sensitivity and speed, each available in Ultra and Life platforms. iXon Ultra adds a conventional CCD amplifier, integrated shutter, CameraLink direct data access, single photon counting modes and cooling to -100 °C, while iXon Life is aimed exclusively at fluorescence microscopy with cooling to -80 °C. Both platforms are compatible with SRRF-Stream + real time super-resolution, which typically improves resolution by 2 to 6 fold, giving 50-150nm final resolution.

The iKon slow scan CCD series applies thermoelectric cooling to -100 °C for very low noise, with back-illuminated photon collection across a broad spectral range and wide dynamic range. Its low maintenance design suits long exposure, low light work in astronomy and weak luminescence detection, and it is robust enough for remote observatories. A Fast Kinetics mode can also capture bursts of data with microsecond dynamics for quantum gas absorption experiments. Two models are offered, the 2048 x 2048 iKon-L 936 and the 1024 x 1024 iKon-M 934, with standard silicon and deep depletion sensor options for enhanced near infrared response.
