FME11 is used to determine the metacentric height of a floating body. A pontoon with an adjustable weight is floated in a tank and the angle of heel is read for each weight position, giving the stability of the vessel. V and U shaped hull versions are also published.

FME33 demonstrates the transmission of pressure in a confined liquid. Loads applied to pistons of different area are balanced against each other, showing that pressure acts equally in all directions and explaining the hydraulic press.
FME08 is used to measure the hydrostatic thrust on a plane surface and to locate its centre of pressure. A quadrant is partly submerged in a tank and balanced by weights on a lever, for both partly and fully immersed conditions.
FME35 is a module for measuring the basic properties of liquids. It covers density and specific gravity with hydrometers, viscosity by the falling ball method, capillary rise and surface tension, giving data needed for later experiments.
