HEMP is a bench unit for teaching pressure measurement. Bourdon gauges, liquid column manometers and electronic transducers are connected to a common pressure source so their readings, ranges and errors can be compared.
FME24 is used to study flow through porous media. Water passes through a packed bed in a venturi arrangement while head loss and flow rate are measured, allowing the Darcy equation and the permeability of the bed to be examined.
HVB is a falling ball viscometer. Balls of different diameter and density are dropped through a liquid column and timed over a known distance, giving the dynamic viscosity of the liquid and the resistance coefficient of the sphere.
