Brand: Retsch | Category: Scientific & Laboratory Equipment
High energy ball mill that combines high frequency impact with intensive friction, reaching a final fineness below 80 nm. Integrated water cooling and temperature control allow long grinding runs without the sample overheating, which is what normally limits nanoscale grinding. It is used for nano grinding, mechanical alloying and colloidal milling.

Mixer mill that cools the grinding jar continuously with liquid nitrogen to minus 196 degrees Celsius during grinding, so elastic and temperature sensitive material becomes brittle enough to fracture. Cooling runs before and throughout the cycle, and the jar is cooled rather than the sample being immersed, so the sample stays dry.
Large capacity vibratory disc mill taking batches from 35 ml up to 2,000 ml, for laboratories preparing large samples for spectral analysis. It reaches the same sub 20 µm fineness as the RS 200 but with grinding sets up to 2 litres, so a bulk sample does not have to be split before grinding.
Multipurpose mixer mill for dry, wet and cryogenic grinding of small sample quantities, and for cell disruption in reaction vials. Two jars oscillate radially at 3 to 30 Hz, and typical grinding times are 30 seconds to 2 minutes. It also handles mixing and homogenisation, which makes it a general purpose bench unit.
