A packed absorption column for studying hydrodynamics and mass transfer between a gas and a liquid. Ammonia or carbon dioxide is absorbed from an air mixture into water flowing down the packing, so students can measure pressure drop, flooding and absorption efficiency.
Designed by EDIBON, the Corrosion Study Unit, "EEC", allows the simultaneous study of corrosion in up to eight corrosion cells.
A two column unit that covers both absorption and desorption in packed towers. Working with the columns in sequence lets students follow a solute into the liquid and then strip it out again, reproducing the operating conditions used in chemical and environmental plant.
