This is the 10 micron diameter platinum tip CH Instruments supply for scanning electrochemical microscopy, captioned CHI116 Pt SECM Tip in the accessory photographs. It is the probe consumable for the 920D Scanning Electrochemical Microscope (SECM) in the CH Instruments instrument range.
For non-aqueous work CH Instruments list the CHI112, a silver / silver ion reference electrode fitted with a porous Teflon tip. The published note states that the Ag+ solution, typically 10 mM, has to be made up from the supporting electrolyte and AgNO3, neither of which is supplied, and then loaded into the reference compartment with a syringe that is also not supplied. Instructions are shipped with the components. It shares a figure with the CHI111 aqueous reference electrode.
CHI117 is the 25 micron diameter platinum SECM tip, the coarser of the two sizes CH Instruments list. Like the CHI116 it serves as the scanning probe for the 920D Scanning Electrochemical Microscope (SECM).
