A protective aluminium case from the Kaps general accessories range. It is supplied for space-saving and secure storage of the instrument when it is not in use.
A super-bright cold light source developed specifically for Kaps diagnostic and surgical microscopes. It can stand alone as a table version, mount on the SOM® 62 mobile stand or work with the SOM® 32 ceiling microscope, and the various adaptation options assemble quickly and without tools onto existing Kaps instruments. Brightness is set by a manual rotary knob and the colour temperature stays constant at 5,800 K. An integrated operating hours indicator shows the current usage duration so the lamp can be replaced before it fails, and the mounting position is arranged so that the fibre optic cable can be plugged back into conventional lighting within seconds if the xenon source ever does fail.
An apochromatic objective with a focal length of 200 mm, compatible with any Kaps microscope from the SOM® series. Retrofitting takes only minutes because the lens is simply exchanged. Apochromatic correction minimises image errors and the use of advanced glasses with anomalous partial dispersion means the eye sees no disruptive colour fringes. Multi-coated optics maximise light transmission and cut reflections, so the view stays high-contrast, sharp and colour-neutral with the finest depth of focus.
