A dissectible and configurable machine set for theoretical and practical training. The stator and rotor parts can be exchanged and rewired so that several different machine types are built from the same components, then run and measured on the bench.
Covers brushless DC machines and the electronic commutation they require. The student works through the usual industrial manoeuvres using the motor's own control system, observing how the drive sequences the windings and regulates speed.
Covers stepper motors and the sequencing needed to control them. Students set up the drive, work through the control of the step sequence and observe how step rate and load affect the accuracy of positioning.
