Match a nitrogen generator to the instrument’s gas requirements. Compare BIOBASE and Infitek configurations, flow units, air supply, consumables and quotation scope.
Choose a laboratory nitrogen generator from the receiving instrument's gas specification, not from purity alone. Flow, pressure, contaminants, operating hours and the air-supply package all belong in the comparison. This guide covers instrument-level procurement. For larger process plants and industrial distribution, use the separate industrial oxygen and nitrogen guide.
Send the supplier the instrument make, model and gas-utility page from its installation manual. An evaporator, detector and mass-spectrometer installation can have different requirements; an application label does not establish compatibility with every instrument in that group. If several instruments share a supply, describe simultaneous operation and each outlet's requirements.
| Requirement | Information to put in the enquiry |
|---|---|
| Flow | Continuous and peak demand, units, reference conditions and instruments operating together. |
| Pressure | Required pressure and allowable variation at the instrument inlet, including distribution losses. |
| Gas quality | Required nitrogen grade and limits for oxygen, moisture, oil or other contaminants stated by the instrument maker. |
| Operating pattern | Hours per day, unattended operation, start-up needs and response to interrupted supply. |
| Interfaces | Connections, tubing, regulators, filters, alarms and any instrument-specific accessory requirements. |
A rating of 500 mL/min is 0.5 L/min when expressed on the same reference basis. It is not 500 L/min. Also ask whether the required purity, flow and pressure are achieved together at the proposed operating conditions; separate headline maxima may not describe one operating point.
The examples below distinguish existing catalogue families. They are not a ranking, a compatibility approval or a statement of stock. Obtain a dated specification for the exact offered model before ordering.
| Listed family | Manufacturer information reviewed | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| BIOBASE laboratory NG series | The current page lists 300 and 500 mL/min variants, with external-air and compressor-equipped configurations. | Exact model suffix, air package and output conditions for the receiving instrument. |
| BIOBASE QP-Eco series | The current page describes nitrogen blowers, ELSD and CAD applications and a maximum flow of 15 L/min. | Current model reference and guaranteed purity at the required flow and pressure; the page identifies NG-EcoP15. |
| Infitek N2G-300 / N2G-500 | The page lists 300 and 500 mL/min output ranges and a compressed-air connection. | Air treatment and supply scope. The page headline and table differ on purity and pressure, so obtain a written model specification. |
Review the BIOBASE laboratory nitrogen generator, BIOBASE QP-Eco family and Infitek N2G family alongside their manufacturer documents. Model references and included components should match across the quotation, datasheet and purchase order.
Separate the generator from any required compressor, air treatment, connections and instrument-side accessories. Confirm electrical supply, heat removal, service clearance and room conditions. Ask which consumables and routine procedures apply to the exact design, what the operator can perform and what requires service attendance.
No. Compare every required gas outlet with the exact instrument's installation specification. A matching gas name or a high nominal purity is insufficient if flow, pressure, contaminants or duty differ. Ask for written compatibility confirmation before purchase.
No. An evaporator uses a gas stream during sample concentration; a generator supplies gas. Confirm the evaporator's total demand across the positions you intend to use, then specify a compatible supply.
It depends on the model and offer. Some configurations need an external air supply; others include a compressor. Identify air treatment, receivers, connections and installation responsibilities in writing rather than assuming the package is complete.
Send the instrument model and gas-requirements page, intended operating hours, site utilities and any preferred generator models. Request an itemised offer with the configuration, current availability, documents and support responsibilities stated explicitly.
Browse laboratory pumps and gas generators and send VVON your instrument gas brief. Include the receiving equipment's manual page if available. A useful first response should resolve configuration and compatibility before a final price comparison.
Share your application, equipment requirements and procurement timeline. Our engineers can help clarify the configuration and scope for your enquiry.
